Rich Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 So the Kings Coronation is taking place on the 6th of May at 11am. Whats your thoughts on it? Its costing over £100million too... Should this take place? Should we be spending this money on something productive in the current climate? According to LBC Radio, this money would hire enough people to clear the entire asylum backlog in 1 go or take thousands of homeless off the street and get them back on their feet, but instead, we're celebrating 1 person taking over the Monarchy... Is it right? Should we still have a royal family? Do we need them? Accounts for the Sovereign Grant, which funds the Monarchy's household's official expenses, released in June of 2022 show that they cost the taxpayer £102.4m during 2021-22 – an increase of 17% from the previous financial year. According to Brand Finance, the UK monarchy’s annual contribution to the UK economy was £1.76bn in 2017 alone and isnt declining. So as a business, The Royal Family is very profitable for the UK, and UK brands abroad that carry a Royal Warrant or a Coat of Arms. Quote
